Orlando, FL, July 2025 – The 2025 FCCLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) took place in Orlando, FL, from July 5-9, 2025, drawing more than 10,000 students, educators, and guests from across the nation. This gathering provided a valuable platform for attendees to expand their leadership skills, sharpen their talents, explore career pathways, and listen to inspiring speakers.

The highly anticipated Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events were at the heart of the conference. Over 4,300 FCCLA Members competed in these events, where they were recognized for their proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. The collaboration between youth and adults in managing the events and evaluating participants allowed students to develop real-world skills and gain valuable insights.

STAR Events are pivotal in supporting student development by enhancing their classroom experience and guiding them toward successful career pathways. With more than 30 events to choose from, participants had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities by actively addressing essential issues concerning families, careers, or communities. By researching the topic and implementing projects to advocate for positive change, students acquired valuable skills and industry insights needed to thrive in the 21st century.

Culpeper County High School sent 8 students to Orlando, FL, this summer to compete at the National Family, Career and Community Leaders of America conference. Claire Powell competed in Leadership Level 2 and earned a bronze medal. Nadia Kratly, Sydney Smith, and Atleigh Barber competed in Focus on Children Level 2 and earned a bronze medal. Lyric Powers and Madelyn Corradi competed in Sports Nutrition Level 3 and earned a silver medal. Leahbella Borges and Alexis Claveloux competed in Nutrition and Wellness Level 2 and earned a silver medal.

Culpeper County Middle School proudly sent 11 students to the national Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competition, where all participants placed in the Top 10 of their respective event categories. Emma Powell and Myla Prezleski earned second place in the nation and received gold medals in the Promote and Publicize FCCLA, Level One category. Chloe Bowling also earned a gold medal and placed second in the nation in Interpersonal Communications, Level One. The Parliamentary Procedure Level One team—composed of Jackson Bahl, McKenzie Burke, Nick Cook, Benjamin Hodges, Madison McCall, and Adriana Saylor—secured a Top 10 national placement and were awarded bronze medals. Additionally, Casaundra Baker earned a silver medal and placed in the Top 10 nationally for her project in the Nutrition and Wellness, Level One category. These outstanding achievements reflect the hard work, dedication, and leadership skills of Culpeper County Middle School’s FCCLA members.

Culpeper Technical Education Center student Amaeli Wohlemuth competed in Live Baking and Pastry and achieved a Silver Medal for her efforts. She competed along with other students from around the country.

Eastern View High school students Kendall Fiscus, Makayla Hall, and Emma Readmond competed in Entrepreneurship Level 3 where they earned a bronze medal.

FCCLA’s STAR Events encourage students to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges through competitive presentations in areas such as advocacy, entrepreneurship, public speaking, and more. The students' projects exemplifies their dedication, creativity, and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Their accomplishment at the national level is a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and unwavering passion.
