Applications are now being accepted for the 2027 Summer Residential Governor’s School (SRGS) programs, offering advanced academic and artistic opportunities for highly motivated high school students across Virginia.
These summer programs provide intensive study and enrichment in specialized areas, including Agriculture, Engineering, Humanities, Marine Science, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.
Eligible students must currently be enrolled in 10th or 11th grade.
During the 3-4 week residential experience, students live on a college or university campus, engaging in challenging coursework, laboratory and field studies, research, individual and group projects, and seminars with leading scholars, artists, and professionals. Participants also enjoy co-curricular and extracurricular activities designed to foster collaboration, creativity, and leadership among peers who share similar interests and abilities.

Students applying for Visual and Performing Arts programs—including instrumental, vocal, visual arts, and theater—must participate in a county audition. Interested students should contact their music or theater teacher for audition details.
