This hands-on experience gave students the opportunity to practice answering interview questions, communicating confidently, and presenting themselves professionally. Mr. Brandenstein’s chemistry class recently did a lab to learn how to use a Bunsen burner safely. Students got hands-on practice lighting the burner and adjusting the flame. The lab was a fun way for students to learn about lab safety while getting comfortable using new equipment. #BDP #BetterEveryDay #ForksUp


Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Buckles has proudly served as the Registrar (and other roles) at CCHS for 27 years. Her favorite part of working at CCHS is the strong sense of family and community. Born in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Buckles moved to Gainesville, Virginia, when she was just two years old. Ms. DeLano's Small Animal Care students gained hands-on experience by learning how to properly bathe and groom a dog. They practiced safe handling techniques while using appropriate bathing products and equipment. Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Higdon has been working at CCHS for 3 years in our Math Department. Before joining us, she taught math and computer science at Waynesburg University. She loves working here because every day brings something new alongside her students, whether it’s a new story, a dad joke, a puzzle to solve, or, best of all, a breakthrough learning moment. These moments constantly remind her of how much she loves her job.
She is originally from Central Oregon, however Mrs. Higdon also lived in western Pennsylvania before settling in Culpeper. She is a plant enthusiast—so much so that she accidentally grew 42 bell pepper plants this past year! #BDP #BetterEveryDay #ForksUp
