Mr. Moorhead’s 4th block took science into their own hands by creating their very own weather instruments! In the photo above, students built a barometer to measure air pressure and get a hands-on look at how weather works. The Devils’ Depot is our school store, offering a variety of Blue Devil merchandise and snacks for students and staff. It is open during the morning from 7:35–7:45 AM and after school from 2:05–2:20 PM. The store is proudly run by our Marketing class, giving students hands-on experience in managing and promoting a real school business. Staff Spotlight: Mr. Ford teaches Health and PE at CCHS, and this will be his eighth year at CC. His favorite part about working at CC is having a front-row seat to his daughter’s graduation. Mrs. Fichthorn is the Head Guidance Counselor at CCHS, and this year marks her 8th year at CC. Her favorite part about working here is getting to know the students and staff, as well as being part of a school community that feels like a family. Originally from Clarke County, VA, Mrs. Fichthorn enjoys reading, knitting, doing yoga, traveling, and spending time with her family outside of school. Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Elkins has been teaching math at CCHS for 16 years. Her favorite thing about CCHS is the amazing community, saying that we have great students and great staff, and that everyone genuinely roots for and celebrates each other’s successes. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Elkins also does choreography for our theatre productions! She enjoys hiking, reading, and baking, and recently earned her master’s degree in Mathematics from JMU. Today in Mrs. Cahoon's class, students participated in a hands-on Fluorine/Fluoride and Dental Hygiene activity, learning about the importance of fluoride and maintaining healthy teeth. They also enjoyed a creative food arts and crafts activity that encouraged imagination, creativity, and learning through fun! #BDP #BetterEveryDay #ForksUp

The next Driver’s Ed student and parent session will be held September 16th at EVHS. Attendance is required for students who are working toward getting their driver’s license.

Mr. Eisenhower has been a Social Studies teacher at CCHS for the past 12 years. Originally from Pennsylvania, he was named the CCHS 2022-23 Teacher of the Year and says his favorite part of working at CCHS is the strong connection he has with his department and students. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Eisenhower is a big baseball fan and enjoys cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates.
